Tee Ball Program

Little League has created a program for Tee Ball players that is specifically designed to provide a foundation and introduction to baseball that is grounded in fundamentals, fitness, and having fun. The Little League Tee Ball program is a 10-week plan and resource that features structured learning, highlighted by one practice and one game per week. Over the course of the season, coaches and parents will engage in a series of lessons utilizing up to 40 activities that include skills, drills, and plenty of physical activity.

Coach Pitch Program

The Little League Coach Pitch Program was created to provide volunteer managers and coaches in the Little League Minor Divisions with the appropriate direction to organize and efficiently operate practices throughout the season. Northwood Little League primarily uses coach pitch in the Rookie division, but the program is also appropriate for A ball players.

This 12-week program focuses on the fundamentals of baseball, and is designed to build a solid foundation for becoming a successful ballplayer, both physically and mentally. The program assumes that the volunteers who have accepted the responsibility of coaching children in this age group have a limited background in baseball and the leadership and teaching acumen that is inherent with coaching Little Leaguers at this level of the program.

Little League University

Little League Baseball has launched Little League University (LLU), the online resource destination for Little League's training and education programming. LittleLeagueU.org provides training videos and how-to articles for volunteer use, and contains best practices on both baseball skills and league operation. A free account is required to access the content on the site.

Pitch Smart Program

Little League has always placed safety as a top priority, and is continually striving to provide children with healthy and safe baseball and softball opportunities. For nearly a decade, the Little League program has been at the forefront of promoting arm safety for youth pitchers. As we continue to work to make baseball a safe, fun sport for all children, Little League is proudly supporting the efforts of Major League Baseball and USA Baseball through the Pitch Smart campaign. Pitch Smart is a series of practical, age-appropriate guidelines to help parents, players and coaches avoid overuse injuries and foster long, healthy careers for youth pitchers.
